The Department of Medical Statistics (Head: Prof. Dr. Tim Friede) offers statistical advisory service and teaching in the fields of biometric and bioinformatics analysis of clinical and genomic data within the Medical Faculty and at the Göttingen Research Campus (GRC). Additionally, it conducts research in the areas of adaptive clinical trial designs, meta-analysis / evidence synthesis and computational statistics.
The Department offers a broad range of activities through numerous collaborations in various clinical areas and is closely linked with UMG Study Centre and the Institute for Medical Informatics through the joint working group "Biometry, Data Management and Informatics in Clinical Studies".

Your tasks
- You will work on the EU-funded INVENTS consortium, which is coordinated by INSERM (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale) in Paris (see project website: https://invents-he.eu/). The project aim is to improve evidence in regulatory decision-making for rare diseases and to provide corresponding methods and evidence tools.
- as part of your PhD, you will be involved in the development of such models, driven by applications in drug development.

Your qualifications
- a completed degree in Biometry, Statistics, or Mathematics
- an interest in the development and application of statistical methods in medicine and excellent programming knowledge in R are required
- excellent German and English skills are also required
- high team and service orientation, and strong communication capacities are expected
