To that end, we employ multidisciplinary approaches, pivoting on state-of-the art cryo- electron tomography (see e.g. Bäuerlein et al., Cell 2017; Guo et al., Cell 2018; Collado et al., Dev Cell 2019; Trinkaus et al., Nat Comm 2021; Jentoft et al. Cell 2023; Wagner et al., Nature 2024; Ehses et al., Sci Adv 2026).

We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with experience in Drosophila biology to investigate in situ the molecular mechanisms underlying peripheral neuropathies.

Your tasks

Your tasks

  • generate and characterize novel Drosophila lines
  • carry out correlative cryo-light microscopy, cryo-focused ion beam milling and cryo-electron tomography to investigate the molecular architecture of neurons directly within intact Drosophila tissues (see Bäuerlein et al., bioRxiv 2023)
  • quantitative analyze cryo-ET data
