We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated PostDoc with an interest to develop new optogenetic approaches to stimulate muscle cells. The successful applicant will be part of the Göttingen Campus and can be associated to the FOR 5807, SFB1690 and EKFZ for optogenetic therapies. He/she/it will explore new channelrhodopsins and optoGPCRs in HEK293 cells, skeletal muscle, smooth muscles and cardiomyocytes.

- Functional readout in hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and other cellular models
- Supervise Master, MD and PhD students
- Develop your own ideas and get first third-party funding

- Completed Md or PhD in a Life Sciences subject (molecular medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, …)
- Labwork experience
- Independent, responsible, flexible working style and ability to work in an international team
- Interested in basic cardiovascular research, electrophysiology and optogenetics
